What
do we provide?
Manifa
Elephant Camp provides wonderful and enjoyable courses of playing with
elephants including elephant riding, bathing, mahout and treating. Other
related activities like camping, trekking, boat cruising and visiting village
and caves are also available.
On
elephants we guide you to have a look wonderful scenery along the Mekong
comprising with green tropical forest and beautiful rock cliff. Riding
elephants to get through the jungle is also available.
You
would be joyful in playing with elephants while they are bathing at Mekong
River. If you join this activity, you will have a chance to swim at Mekong River.
Bathing makes the elephant feel very relax and so do you.
A mahout is an elephant coach. On this course you will learn and practice how to control one of the biggest wild animal, elephant. Our professional mahout will give you very sample techniques to help you control an elephant by yourselves. You would be very proud and happy after mastering coaching the elephant.
Treating
or keeping the elephant apart from its original life hood is not an easy but
very interesting job. This special course will provide you the full lesson of
taking care of the elephant along the whole day.We also provide combination tour
such as trekking, kayaking, visiting cave and ancient village.
Where are we?
Manifa Elephant
Camp is situated on the left bank of Mekong, 20-Km north of Luang Prabang. You
can get there either by boat or by car. If you like cruising on slow boats it
will take you about one hour to reach the camp and from there it will take a
half hour to go Pak Ou Cave, one of the most visited spot in Luang Prabang. If
you prefer sitting on our minivan, it will take about 30 minutes to get there.
On the road way you can visit Ban Xang Hai, an ancient village producing Lao
whisky or Lao Lao.
